Celebrate Texas Arbor Day
Trees are worth celebrating! In Texas we celebrate Arbor Day the first Friday of November because fall is the perfect time to plant new trees. Fall planted trees fair better due to our mild winters with increased rainfall, and they get plenty of time to establish before summer comes around.
The official state celebration is being held in Plano this year so it’s easy to attend! They are having two events- the first for children on Friday (it’s already sold out!) & the second on Saturday, open to the public.
If you can’t make it to Plano, plenty of other North Texas cities are holding events also, and many are giving away free trees to residents. Here’s our run-down for 2019:
