Get to Know our Staff: Meet Micah Pace, our Urban Forester
Micah Pace, M.S.
Urban Forestry Specialist
ISA Certified Arborist
Tree Risk Assessment Qualified
Micah is the Urban Forestry Specialist and a certified arborist here at Preservation Tree Services (PTS) in Dallas. He possesses a wealth of urban forestry and arboricultural knowledge and experience. Micah served as the Dallas Regional Urban Forester with the Texas Forest Service from 2009 through 2013. He also spent 5 years with the State of Florida Forest Service as the South Florida Cooperative Forestry Assistance Coordinator prior to moving to Dallas.
Micah holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Natural Resource Management from The Ohio State University and a Master’s of Science in Forestry from the University of Maine. Micah also worked for the Peace Corps in Ecuador, providing a wide diversity of experiences and training. Micah is currently a Director on the Board of the Texas State Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA).
Micah works with our customers to ensure they get the most value from their trees. Risk assessments and tree inventories are often required when homeowners start a construction project or are building a new home. For larger property owners, such as municipalities and large commercial or corporate campuses, professional management of the urban tree resource often requires a formal tree inventory and overall management plan. Micah is proud to have partnered with a host of cities, such as Arlington, Irving, Mesquite, and most recently the city of Plano, to help them gain a better understanding of their urban trees in order to make better management decisions.

Education is an important part of the urban forest management process and Micah enjoys sharing his knowledge with our customers and at professional education events. This year Micah has provided presentations for the American Planning Association at their North Texas Climate Resilience and Adaptation Symposium in the spring, as well as, the City of Grapevine’s Citizen Forester Training.
If you’re in the tree care industry, you can catch up with Micah at some of his upcoming speaking engagements: North Texas Recreation and Parks Society Conference in Fort Worth on November 6th and the Sun Country Landscape and Urban Forestry Conference in El Paso, Texas on November 19th and 20th. Micah also takes Preservation Tree Service international, as he will be presenting in Monterrey, Mexico on November 13th at their annual national arborists conference hosted by the Mexican Arborist Association (AMA Asociación Mexicana de Arboristas).
Professionalism, Passion, and Pride that’s what makes Preservation Tree Service stand above the competition. If you haven’t had your trees checked recently by a PTS arborist, please give us a call so we can help you maximize one of your most valuable assets; your trees!
