Preservation Tree gives some TLC to Live Oak at Heights Elementary

We love giving back to the community to keep trees healthy. Recently, that meant spending nearly a full day at Richardson Heights Elementary, located in the Richardson ISD for some much needed volunteer tree pruning. Our crew, led by Crew Foreman Leo, worked on trimming and re-shaping a Live Oak that had become quite overgrown in the school’s inner courtyard.

When trees are not pruned properly, and in a timely fashion, they can become safety hazards. Deadwood, damaged or diseased branches, or other serious structural issues can be dangerous.

The before and after photos of the pruning work show quite the difference. We removed dead weight in the tree and hazard branches. Now this tree can breathe a little easier- and is safer for the kids.

Heights Elementary is fortunate to have a great school garden and garden club for its students. We were even able to catch a bluebonnet blooming during the gorgeous & unseasonable warm January weather!
