Preservation Tree, The Consulting Group Helps Assess Hurricane Harvey-damaged Trees

Preservation Tree, the Consulting Group (PTCG) joined dozens of fellow tree experts around Texas to assist in continued Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend in the Rockport-Fulton region of South Texas.

The first-of-its-kind project sponsored by ISAT was made possible by the contributions of the following valuable partners: Aransas County, City of Rockport, Town of Fulton, Texas A&M Forest Service, and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension-Aransas County. Tree care professionals and members of the Texas Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) from around the state visited Aransas County to provide free tree help to private residential properties affected by Hurricane Harvey. PTCG staff members, Micah Pace, Director, and Chad Simmons, Certified Arborist, helped by conducting on-the-ground visual tree risk assessments to provide property owners information about how to reduce risk and help preserve trees. These assessments helped reduce the number of trees needlessly removed and provided a way to communicate important recommendations to property owners to help improve the health and safety of their trees. Preservation Tree is so pleased it could participate in the important goal of the overall recovery of the Aransas County urban forest.
